這塊板狀標本幾乎整個表面都鋪滿了細小的淡紫色螢石立方體，成千上萬顆邊挨著邊擠在一起，中間被乳白色的結殼、以及橫臥於表面如冰晶碎片般的無色石英晶體打斷。例外在右上角：那裡有少數幾顆較大的立方體長出了這片鋪面，呈現比周遭一切都濃烈好幾個色階的深藍紫色。
這裡展示著兩個世代：先是一層早期的細粒螢石結殼，接著是條件穩定後接手的、顆粒更粗且色彩飽和得多的一期生長。瑤崗仙的標本常常這樣層層堆疊不同的晶體習性，而這種對比正是讓這塊板狀標本值得在燈下轉動的原因。螢石，CaF2，莫氏硬度 4，具完全的八面體解理；石英晶體雖然更硬，卻纖細得容易折斷。
板狀標本為 7.6 × 6.4 × 2.8 cm，135 g，夠薄，可以放進淺型的展示盒中。影像在日光下並以手持方式拍攝，記錄的正是這一塊標本，別無其他。
