關於此標本
兩枚晶體，兩種性情。左邊那枚紫羅蘭色螢石立方體，心中裹著一團乳白的雲，一道稜邊上還開著更深的紫；右邊的海綠色晶群則以層疊的晶面向上遞進，生長面之間夾著橄欖色的薄片，背面仍黏著一圈淺色母岩的外皮。
瑤崗仙在同一片地層中同時產出這兩種顏色，因此像這樣的成對套組確實極具啟發性：同一礦種、同一礦山，氣質卻截然不同。螢石的顏色來自 CaF2 晶格中的微量替代與缺陷，而非單一致色因子，所以綠色與紫色能在相距數公尺之內各自生長。兩枚都帶著螢石莫氏 4 的柔軟，以及四個方向輕易解理的性格——請把它們放下，別讓它們掉下去。
兩枚按圖中擺放約橫跨 5.1 cm，合計重 20 g，各以白色黏土固定在同一塊透明壓克力座上。此處拍攝的兩枚石頭，就是將寄達您手中的那兩枚。
