關於此標本
一枚單晶石英，略帶淡煙色、晶尖銳利，正面橫過一道斜向的雲母帶：銀白色的書頁狀疊層層層相扣、散開成玫瑰花結，增厚處呈橄欖灰，其間還夾著幾片米黃色黏土，以及一小團白色的晶體結。石英為半透明而非水清透明，晶尖各面之下有淡淡的絮狀薄紗游移。
石英（SiO2）莫氏硬度 7，硬到足以不把日常取拿放在眼裡，而且它沿著彎曲的貝殼狀斷口破裂，而非沿解理面。雲母則是這組搭檔中脆弱的一方：它在莫氏 2 至 3 左右就能剝成富彈性的薄片，指甲從玫瑰花結上劃過，就會把葉片整片掀起來。托住石英，別碰那片銀白，這份對比才留得住。
