這件貴州小標本的上半部是一座深紫羅蘭色的螢石穹頂，佈滿較淺的薰衣草色塊，彷彿一幅鑲嵌畫被嵌進表面之後又被抹柔。在它下方與周圍，蜜金色的方解石晶體以暖色調的晶簇覆滿母岩，左緣還闖入一小片白色的碳酸鹽。紫壓在金上，收在一件能舒服地躺在掌心的標本裡。
在貴州的碳酸鹽岩容礦礦床中，螢石與方解石是常見的伴侶，由同一批流體在不同時刻沉澱下來；這裡方解石來得最晚，靠在螢石旁堆積起來，而沒有把它掩埋。這樣的組合在清潔時需要謹慎的手：方解石莫氏硬度 3，具完全的菱面體解理，連弱酸都會起反應，而莫氏硬度 4 的螢石則沿八面體方向解理。清水與軟毛刷，不要更強的東西。
