直視這枚海綠色的香花嶺立方體，會有另一枚立方體回望你——一枚顏色更深的綠色幻影懸浮在正中央，稜邊與包覆它的晶體同樣銳利。收藏家稱這種效果為「窗」：一枚完整的早期晶體被保存在後期晶體之內，只因外層的生長始終保持透明，才得以顯現。
幾道稜邊與晶角上有赭色的鐵染，那是這個晶洞的標誌；晶面本身則光滑如玻璃，帶著淡淡的生長階梯。位於湖南郴州的香花嶺，正是讓這種嵌套立方體外觀聞名的產地。
尺寸 6.1 × 5.2 × 3.9 cm，重 140 g。天然未經處理；照片所示即為實際標本。
