A flat, bird-shaped plate of white feldspar and quartz carrying a large, lustrous dark-red garnet at the right and a scatter of smaller red garnets across the surface, with clear hyalite opal crusts that glow green under UV. Orange iron staining runs along the upper edge.
Yunxiao, Fujian, produces garnet-on-feldspar with hyalite in numbers, but a garnet this large is the exception; the photos show the UV response.
Weight 56 g / 2 oz. Cabinet specimen, makes a strong centrepiece on a shelf or in a display case. Sold as photographed, with any known repair, mount, treatment or condition note disclosed in this listing; colour is as true to hand as the photos allow.
