Messinggelber Pyrit tritt an dieser kleinen Gruppe aus jedem Winkel hervor, jede Fläche gezeichnet von den feinen parallelen Linien, die Pyrit hinterlässt, wenn Würfel und Pyritoeder um dieselbe Wachstumsrichtung konkurrieren. Dazwischen drängen sich farblose Quarzprismen, wasserklar gegen all das Metall, und die Rückseite des Stücks verdunkelt sich zu einer rußigen, eisenschüssigen Matrix mit weiteren metallischen Körnern.
Pyrit ist FeS2 mit Mohs 6 bis 6,5, hart genug, um an Stahl Funken zu schlagen – daher sein Name, vom griechischen Wort für Feuer. Die Streifung ist eine ehrliche Signatur natürlichen Wachstums: Sie wechselt von Fläche zu Fläche die Richtung, was keine Politur und keine Behandlung nachbildet. Quarz ist der übliche Begleiter in Sulfidgängen und liefert hier das klare Gegengewicht. Die Stufe ist aus Spanien katalogisiert.
