Über diese Stufe
Jiangxi golden baryte with purple fluorite at 121 g; a small cabinet piece with warm colour on the blades.
Baryte is a collector staple from Chinese lead-zinc and fluorite deposits, where it forms crisp tabular crystals alongside fluorite and calcite.
Chinese fluorite has become a staple of modern collections for its sharp crystal faces, strong colour and a lustre that reads well from across the room.
Jiangxi is China's tungsten province; its mines have yielded wolframite, scheelite and fluorite specimens of world standard for decades.
Dimensions place it in the small cabinet range, 6.5 × 4 × 3.8 cm (2.56 × 1.57 × 1.50 in) and 121 g (4.3 oz). Condition is otherwise as photographed.
