Über diese Stufe
Tintenviolett und rundlich statt kantig: Der Fluorit ist hier als Kugeln gewachsen, nicht als Blöcke. Ein Dutzend gerundeter Aggregate sitzt auf einer zuckerartigen Quarzkruste in der Farbe von altem Elfenbein, jedes aus Hunderten winziger Würfel zu einer Kugel gepackt; die dichte Gruppe oben rechts wirkt schwarz, bis Licht in sie hineinreicht und das Violett zurückkehrt.
Material aus Fujian in diesem Ton läuft im Handel als Tanzan-Fluorit, und das eigentlich Interessante ist der kugelige Habitus. Statt dass ein einzelner Kristall stetig auf einer freien Fläche wächst, setzten auf der Quarzdruse Tausende Keime gleichzeitig an und wuchsen gemeinsam nach außen – was wie eine Kugel aussieht, ist in Wahrheit ein Gedränge. Fluorit ist CaF2, Mohshärte 4, mit vollkommener Spaltbarkeit nach vier Flächenscharen – die Kugeln brechen leichter, als ihr massiver Eindruck vermuten lässt; heben Sie die Stufe daher an der Platte an, nicht am Violett.
Die Platte misst 10,4 × 6,6 × 4,1 cm und wiegt 230 g – dünn genug, um sie aufrecht anzulehnen oder flach in eine Schublade zu legen. Ein Sockel gehört nicht dazu. Nichts hier ist ein Katalogfoto: Es ist genau diese Platte.
