Über diese Stufe
Guangdong included green fluorite with quartz at 52 g; a small cabinet piece that rewards a loupe.
Fluorite is the classic collector's halide: calcium fluoride that grows as cubes, octahedra and stepped combinations, often with colour zoning that shows best in daylight.
Rock crystal is judged on termination quality, clarity and how the crystals sit together, and the Chinese localities have raised the bar on all three.
Guangdong's Jinlong district is known for hematoid and chlorite-phantom quartz with specular hematite, alongside fluorite and calcite.
Dimensions place it in the small cabinet range, 5.5 × 4.5 × 2.6 cm (2.17 × 1.77 × 1.02 in) and 52 g (1.8 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
Each specimen is individually photographed and catalogued before it is listed.
