Über diese Stufe
Der größte Fluorit dieser Platte aus Guizhou trägt eine Fläche wie ein gedrucktes Raster: tiefviolette Quadrate und Rechtecke, die in flachem Relief gegen helleren Grund stehen, blockig und abrupt genug, dass jeder, der ihn in die Hand nimmt, dieselben zwei Buchstaben sagt. Ein zweiter Würfel darüber wiederholt das Muster fast ebenso groß, ein dritter rechts in halber Größe, und eine Spur violetter Krümel zieht sich zwischen ihnen über eine cremeweiße, zuckrige Kruste.
Das Raster ist eine Ätzfigur. Nachdem die Würfel gewachsen waren, griff eine spätere Lösung sie ungleichmäßig an, löste entlang innerer Wachstumsblöcke und ließ die widerstandsfähigeren erhaben stehen – Lösung, die mit der Architektur des Kristalls arbeitet statt gegen sie. Die weiße Decke kam danach und endet vor den Fluoritspitzen, weshalb sich das Violett so hart dagegen abhebt. Fluorit hat Mohshärte 4: ein weicher Pinsel und keine Lösungsmittel auf dieser strukturierten Oberfläche.
Die Platte misst 6,9 × 2,3 × 4,1 cm bei 50 g und lehnt ohne Ständer auf ihrer dickeren hellbraunen Kante. Alle Bilder zeigen diese Platte selbst, ohne Austausch.
