Über diese Stufe
Guangxi rhodochrosite with quartz at 5.5 cm and 102 g; a small cabinet piece with a gentle colour accent.
The pink in rhodochrosite comes from manganese; crystals like these are far rarer than the banded stalactitic material used in jewellery.
Guangxi's Daoping and Yangshuo districts produce the green pyromorphite, plumbogummite and calcite that made the province famous among collectors.
By size it is small cabinet, 5.5 × 5 × 2.5 cm (2.17 × 1.97 × 0.98 in) and 102 g (3.6 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
Carbonate: never clean with acid or vinegar.
Each specimen is individually photographed and catalogued before it is listed.
