A rugged mass of crystallised native copper, red-brown and dendritic, partly coated in green malachite and turquoise-blue chrysocolla where the metal has weathered. The copper shows small crystal faces and arborescent growth across the surface.
A US locality copper with its own oxidation minerals in place; the three colours together make it a good teaching piece for how copper ore weathers. Handle by the edges to keep the copper bright.
It measures 6 × 3.9 × 3.2 cm (2.36 × 1.54 × 1.26 in) and weighs 55 g (1.9 oz), a small cabinet-sized piece that displays well on a shelf or in a cabinet. Sold as photographed, with any known repair, mount, treatment or condition note disclosed in this listing; colour is as true to hand as the photos allow.
