Sobre este espécimen
Dos cristales de fluorita de un azul grisáceo pálido crecieron atravesándose el uno al otro, y el resultado es pura geometría serena: amplias caras vítreas que descienden en finas terrazas, aristas que se encuentran en ángulos rectos limpios y un color tan suave que se lee como vidrio teñido más que como pigmento. La luz recorre varios centímetros antes de que el lado opuesto se difumine.
Las maclas pálidas de Yaogangxian no tienen nada del dramatismo de sus ejemplares morados y sí toda la forma. Este ejemplar muestra su interpenetración desde cualquier ángulo y se asienta firme sobre la base de acrílico que se muestra: una pieza para coleccionistas que compran primero el hábito cristalino.
Mide 6,4 × 5,1 × 5,1 cm y pesa 215 g. Lo que muestran las fotografías es este mismo espécimen.
