Xuebaoding, Sichuan, aquamarine with mica, scheelite and feldspar at 4.5 cm and 77 g; a miniature. A cluster of pale aquamarine crystals with golden mica rosettes, a scheelite the supplier lists and white feldspar, the four minerals the supplier names.
Glassy hexagonal prisms and a sea-blue tone define the aquamarine variety.
Mica forms pearly hexagonal books that catch the light between the other crystals. Scheelite forms pseudo-octahedral bipyramids in Chinese tungsten deposits and fluoresces blue-white under short-wave UV.
The Xuebaoding veins of Pingwu County, Sichuan, produced the orange scheelite and muscovite-aquamarine combinations that put Chinese minerals on the map.
The piece is miniature in size, 4.5 × 3.6 × 4 cm (1.77 × 1.42 × 1.57 in) and 77 g (2.7 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
