Fujian tanzanite-blue fluorite with quartz at 21 g; a miniature with saturated colour.
Fluorite is the classic collector's halide: calcium fluoride that grows as cubes, octahedra and stepped combinations, often with colour zoning that shows best in daylight.
Good quartz is about hexagonal prisms with clean terminations and the glassy lustre that lets a cluster catch light from every angle.
Fujian's fluorite-quartz veins have supplied collectors for two decades; the province is the source of most of the green and purple Chinese fluorite on the market.
The piece is miniature in size, 3.8 × 3.3 × 2 cm (1.50 × 1.30 × 0.79 in) and 21 g (0.7 oz). Condition is otherwise as photographed.
