Jiangxi pink-purple fluorite with pyrite at 14 cm and 1109 g; a large cabinet piece with a rare habit. Keep dry.
Chinese fluorite has become a staple of modern collections for its sharp crystal faces, strong colour and a lustre that reads well from across the room.
Pyrite grows as cubes, pyritohedra and octahedra with a brassy metallic lustre; Chinese pyrite is known for sharp, mirror-faced crystals.
Jiangxi's tungsten mines, Xihuashan and Piaotang among them, are the classic source of wolframite, scheelite, baryte, fluorite and calcite specimens.
By size it is large cabinet, 14 × 13 × 3.5 cm (5.51 × 5.12 × 1.38 in) and 1109 g (39.1 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
