À propos de ce spécimen
Inner Mongolia purple-framed fluorite with quartz at 26 g; a miniature with a minimalist layout.
Chinese fluorite has become a staple of modern collections for its sharp crystal faces, strong colour and a lustre that reads well from across the room.
Good quartz is about hexagonal prisms with clean terminations and the glassy lustre that lets a cluster catch light from every angle.
Inner Mongolia's Huanggang and Chifeng districts produce fluorite, calcite, garnet and rhodochrosite in a lustre and clarity that set the modern standard for Chinese carbonates.
By size it is miniature, 4.3 × 3.1 × 2.8 cm (1.69 × 1.22 × 1.10 in) and 26 g (0.9 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
Specimens are photographed and catalogued one at a time before they reach this page.
