À propos de ce spécimen
Inner Mongolia purple phantom fluorite at 5 cm and 55 g; a small cabinet piece that rewards back-lighting.
Fluorite is the classic collector's halide: calcium fluoride that grows as cubes, octahedra and stepped combinations, often with colour zoning that shows best in daylight.
Inner Mongolia's Huanggang and Chifeng districts produce fluorite, calcite, garnet and rhodochrosite in a lustre and clarity that set the modern standard for Chinese carbonates.
The piece is small cabinet in size, 5 × 3.3 × 2.7 cm (1.97 × 1.30 × 1.06 in) and 55 g (1.9 oz). Condition is otherwise as photographed.
Specimens are photographed and catalogued one at a time before they reach this page.
