Henan pink-green fluorite with quartz at 15 cm; a display plate in a muted, unusual colour.
Fluorite is the classic collector's halide: calcium fluoride that grows as cubes, octahedra and stepped combinations, often with colour zoning that shows best in daylight.
Quartz is the most collected mineral on earth for good reason: sharp hexagonal prisms, bright terminations and endless variation between localities.
Henan's Luoning and Songxian districts are the source of Chinese wulfenite, mimetite, pyromorphite and vanadinite.
Dimensions place it in the large cabinet range, 15 × 13 × 4.4 cm (5.91 × 5.12 × 1.73 in) and 780 g (27.5 oz). Condition is otherwise as photographed.
