Xuebaoding, Sichuan, aquamarine with mica at 8.1 cm and 193 g; a cabinet piece with a sawn base. Two stout pale aquamarine prisms lying across a bed of grey mica, the beryl frosted and translucent; the supplier notes the base was cut flat.
Glassy hexagonal prisms and a sea-blue tone define the aquamarine variety.
Mica forms pearly hexagonal books that catch the light between the other crystals.
The Xuebaoding veins of Pingwu County, Sichuan, produced the orange scheelite and muscovite-aquamarine combinations that put Chinese minerals on the map.
Dimensions place it in the cabinet range, 8.1 × 6 × 3.7 cm (3.19 × 2.36 × 1.46 in) and 193 g (6.8 oz). Disclosed condition: a cut (sawn) base. The price reflects it and the photographs show the affected area. The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
