Zhejiang purple fluorite with quartz at 11 cm and 685 g; a cabinet piece with a botryoidal habit.
Fluorite is the classic collector's halide: calcium fluoride that grows as cubes, octahedra and stepped combinations, often with colour zoning that shows best in daylight.
Good quartz is about hexagonal prisms with clean terminations and the glassy lustre that lets a cluster catch light from every angle.
Zhejiang's Jiangshan and Qingtian districts are known for babingtonite, prehnite, fluorite and quartz from volcanic-hosted veins.
The piece is cabinet in size, 11 × 9 × 6 cm (4.33 × 3.54 × 2.36 in) and 685 g (24.2 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
