Yunxiao, Fujian, sunflower stilbite with calcite at 13 g; a miniature of a rare Chinese zeolite.
Stilbite is a zeolite that forms peach to cream bow-tie sheaves; it is the classic partner of apophyllite in Deccan basalts.
Calcium carbonate in its rhombohedral form, calcite is soft (Mohs 3) and takes a bright vitreous to pearly lustre on fresh faces.
Fujian's fluorite-quartz veins have supplied collectors for two decades; the province is the source of most of the green and purple Chinese fluorite on the market.
Dimensions place it in the miniature range, 3.9 × 3.5 × 2.4 cm (1.54 × 1.38 × 0.94 in) and 13 g (0.5 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
Carbonate: never clean with acid or vinegar.
