この標本について
Xuebaoding, Sichuan, quartz at 10.3 cm and 178 g; a cabinet piece. A clear quartz crystal with a complete termination the supplier notes rising from a cluster of smaller white quartz, the base grown free.
Good quartz is about hexagonal prisms with clean terminations and the glassy lustre that lets a cluster catch light from every angle.
The Xuebaoding veins of Pingwu County, Sichuan, produced the orange scheelite and muscovite-aquamarine combinations that put Chinese minerals on the map.
By size it is cabinet, 6 × 4.2 × 10.3 cm (2.36 × 1.65 × 4.06 in) and 178 g (6.3 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
