黑色刃片才是这件标本的主体——近乎全黑、带细密条纹的板状晶片组成一朵花簇，张开而互相交错，泛着缎面光泽，边缘还露出几道奶油色的镶边。 钒铅矿则以碎钻般的姿态现身：橙红色的晶体大多不到一毫米，卡在刃片边缘与其间的凹处，光线一找到它们就闪亮起来。
米布拉登位于摩洛哥德拉-塔菲拉勒特大区的米德勒特一带，以大颗的红色钒铅矿最为著名，但当地的深色刃状母岩标本也自有拥护者：这种对比是单一矿种标本做不到的。 钒铅矿是一种氯钒酸铅，Pb5(VO43Cl，六方晶系，莫氏硬度 3，其金刚光泽正是让不到一毫米的晶体也能化为明亮光点的原因。
