關於此標本
粉藍色，而且是礦物陳列櫃裡不常出現的顏色：一個由細密直立藍色晶體組成的圓拱半球覆蓋了這件雲南微型標本的大部分正面，表面呈天鵝絨質感，晶尖突破輪廓處微顯絨毛。其下與其後的母岩呈灰白色葡萄狀，左肩結著一道黑色氧化物殼，還有一抹淡藍暈染滲入淺色的岩石之中。
方鈉石通常以塊狀藍色岩石的面貌現身，被鋸成板材或滾磨成珠子，因此一件藍色以放射狀纖維質地的結晶花結呈現的標本，完全是另一回事。粉白的表面很容易沾上手指油脂，之後也不易清除——請握住灰色母岩拿取，並讓它遠離潮濕。
此微型標本尺寸 3.0 × 2.4 × 3.7 cm，重 33 g，以黏土膠座落在照片中的透明壓克力方塊上，而那些照片正是拍自這一件。
