關於此標本
一層橄欖綠的綠泥石結殼緊夾在這顆帶尖端石英單晶的右側，表面由大量細小的片狀晶體組成，隨著光線移動在松綠與芥末黃之間變換。石英本身是乳白奶油色，帶著一絲淡淡的蜜桃暖調，內部橫貫著淡色的薄紗與癒合面，轉動晶體時會在意想不到的角度閃現。
綠泥石是中國石英晶洞中最常見的綠色來源，它有兩種出現方式：封存在晶體內部，成為那些飄浮的幻影，也就是「花園水晶」這個俗稱的由來；或是作為後期的生長棲息在晶體外部，而這一顆屬於後者。外生的形式脆弱得多——綠泥石質軟且呈雲母狀，一經摩擦就會直接被抹掉。必要時以清水沖洗，然後自然風乾即可。
2.8 × 2.3 × 2.5 cm、20 g，小到可以整顆握在手心，晶體附有照片中的透明壓克力底座，以一小顆白色黏土固定。照片拍的就是這顆晶體，別無他者。
