蜜橙色的束沸石在這件福建標本上以肥厚的束狀與蝴蝶結狀堆疊，每一叢集合體都是一把兩端張開的扁平晶刃。色調溫暖：晶刃厚處呈琥珀色，薄處則淡近奶油糖色。表面帶著柔和的珍珠光澤，而非硬亮的閃爍。其下白色的母岩上點綴著深綠近黑的微晶，右側還擠著幾顆無色的石英尖晶。
束沸石屬沸石族，是一種含水的鈣鈉鋁矽酸鹽，生長於火山岩的氣孔之中，而它正以這種束狀習性著稱——晶體兩端張開、腰部收束。它質地偏軟，約莫氏硬度 3.5 至 4，且在自身骨架之內含有水分，因此請避免陽光直射，也別靠近暖氣。
