關於此標本
是緞，不是玻璃。這顆淡紫色螢石的每一個晶面都被蝕刻成柔和的霧面，散射光線而非反射光線，使晶體帶著迎光而視的磨砂海玻璃質感。寬闊的三角形晶面沿俐落的稜線交會，一道較淡、近乎無色的色帶橫過晶體下部，一條深紫色的細線則標出晶體當年倚著晶洞壁的舊接觸面。
霧面外皮並非損傷。福建晶洞中的後期酸性流體，在晶體停止生長之後才開始作用，逐面帶走物質，留下礦物學家稱為溶蝕的微觀麻點表面。螢石沿八面體方向完全解理，這也意味著晶角只要挨上一記碰撞就會起片——請溫柔對待邊稜。
體積小巧，3.8 × 3.0 × 2.8 cm，40 g，拍攝時以白色黏土固定在一枚透明壓克力小方塊上，好讓外形能從各個角度被看見。您眼前的這顆晶體，就是將寄達的那一顆。
