這件瑤崗仙標本左肩上騎著兩枚玻璃般透亮的淺紫色螢石立方晶，較大的那枚晶心深處積著一團紫色的陰影；較小的一枚斜倚著它，光從邊緣透過之處近乎全透明。底下的一切則是一層疙瘩起伏的淡紫色雲母殼，粒狀如粗砂糖，凹處還卡著幾根無色的針晶與偶爾一粒黃銅色的黃鐵礦。
瑤崗仙的鎢礦坑最為人稱道的是螢石，但真正給這類岩板打底的，是那層薰衣草色的雲母毯：是玻璃安放在絲絨上，而非晶體長在裸岩上。螢石呈玻璃光澤，絕非金屬光澤，莫氏硬度 4 又具完全的八面體解理，外露的立方體稜角一旦被磕，就會乾淨地崩下一塊。
