關於此標本
把這顆螢石舉向窗光，內部便化為一座建築：鬼影般的立方體一層套著一層，輪廓以紫色墨水畫在較淺的丁香紫身體上。外表面以浮雕重複同一個念頭——骸晶狀、階梯狀的晶面以細小的玻璃質台地攀上標本，底下則是深葡萄紫的核心。
那些內部輪廓是幻影，是晶體暫停生長、沾上一絲鐵染的物質、再繼續長下去所留下的生長面。由於螢石（CaF2）沿著同樣三條軸線一層層砌起立方體，每一次停頓都以完美方形的陰影保存下來，而階梯狀的外表，不過是那些層次中最後一層尚未完成的模樣。莫氏硬度 4 加上完全的八面體解理，請托住主體，絕不要抓突出的階梯。
這一件為 7.6 × 5.8 × 7.6 cm，重 325 g，恰好一手可握，最好讓光穿透它來展示。它不附底座送達。此處拍攝到的，就是將被打包寄給您的那件標本。
