一顆不比玉米粒大的蜜金色重晶石晶體，孤零零地坐在雪白石英板的中央附近，而整個構圖就靠著它。晶板本身彎成一只淺盤，邊到邊鋪滿細小的白色石英晶端；上緣還黏著第二點黃色。
重晶石是硫酸鋇，BaSO4，收藏者對它的第一印象往往是重量——比重約 4.5，讓這麼軟的礦物（莫氏硬度 3 至 3.5）握在手裡感覺不太對勁。江西產出這種棲於白色石英上的暖琥珀色晶體，而它的魅力在於克制：一顆晶體，位置刻意而準確，襯著一片素淨的背景。
