Sobre este espécimen

Yunnan azurite with malachite at 4.3 cm and 16 g; a miniature with saturated blue. A thin plate coated in electric-blue azurite in a fine crystalline crust, with green malachite patches breaking through across the surface.

The saturated blue of azurite stands out among the common minerals, and Chinese and Congolese material now sits alongside the classic Moroccan finds.

Velvety, fibrous or botryoidal, malachite reads as pure copper green; the best pieces show silky radiating fibres under magnification.

Yunnan's copper and lead-zinc districts produce the azurite, malachite, pyromorphite, hemimorphite and blue aragonite that define Chinese secondary minerals.

By size it is miniature, 4.3 × 3.2 × 1.5 cm (1.69 × 1.26 × 0.59 in) and 16 g (0.6 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.

Copper mineral: avoid dust, wash hands after handling.

Every specimen here is photographed and catalogued individually before listing.
