Hunan red-fluorescing calcite at 11.5 cm and 700 g; a cabinet piece for the UV collector.
Calcite is the most shape-shifting of common minerals: over 800 crystal forms have been described, and Chinese localities produce many of the best.
Hunan's tungsten-tin and lead-zinc mines have supplied the world with fluorite, calcite, quartz and sulfide specimens since the 1990s.
The piece is cabinet in size, 11.5 × 9 × 4.2 cm (4.53 × 3.54 × 1.65 in) and 700 g (24.7 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
