A cluster of clear, glassy Iceland spar calcite rhombs, their faces partly coated in a rusty brown, iridescent pyrite film that shifts colour in the light, known as rainbow pyrite. The calcite is transparent where clean.
Hunan Iceland spar with iridescent pyrite at 5.8 cm and 85 g; a miniature with a two-mineral contrast. Keep dry; never clean with acid.
