De fines crêtes parallèles descendent plusieurs des faces plus sombres, tandis que de petits cristaux angulaires s'assoient près du groupe principal. La vue latérale révèle un large visage sombre et la limite inégale avec la croissance pâle autour. Une matrice de support basse et allongée maintient l'épidote plus haute près du centre, créant un contraste fort entre les cristaux supérieurs presque noirs et les régions environnantes plus douces et de couleur claire.
