About this specimen
Sichuan quartz with epidote at 5.7 cm and 55 g; a small cabinet piece. A milky quartz crystal with a complete tip as the supplier notes and dark green epidote crystals grown onto one face.
Epidote's deep pistachio to olive green and striated prism faces separate it from prehnite.
Sichuan's alpine-type veins and skarns yield aquamarine, prehnite, epidote and scheelite of international quality.
By size it is small cabinet, 2.6 × 2.3 × 5.7 cm (1.02 × 0.91 × 2.24 in) and 55 g (1.9 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
