About this specimen
Sichuan epidote at 10.1 cm and 201 g; a cabinet piece. A tall block of dark green epidote crystals with white quartz patches between them, the epidote sparkling.
Epidote forms pistachio-green prismatic crystals, often striated, and is a classic companion of quartz and feldspar in Chinese skarn deposits.
Sichuan's alpine-type veins and skarns yield aquamarine, prehnite, epidote and scheelite of international quality.
