Numerous thin, pointed crystals form an open network of orange-brown sprays. The upper outline is irregular and spiky, with many narrow growths projecting at different angles. Denser, darker material fills the lower area above a pale patch of matrix.
Unlike a broad-petaled rosette, this Yunnan piece has a fine, bristling texture throughout much of its face. Small gaps between the sprays allow individual points to remain visible.
Locality: Yunnan, China. Weight: 130 g (4.59 oz). Dimensions: 8 × 5 × 5 cm (80 × 50 × 50 mm; 3.15 × 1.97 × 1.97 in).
