À propos de ce spécimen
Yunnan red aragonite at 27 g; a miniature with a gentle pink stripe.
Aragonite is the orthorhombic form of calcium carbonate; it favours needle-like and pseudo-hexagonal twinned crystals over calcite's rhombs.
Yunnan is China's most mineralogically diverse province, source of the pyromorphite, azurite and blue aragonite that have become collector favourites.
Dimensions place it in the miniature range, 4.5 × 2.7 × 1.8 cm (1.77 × 1.06 × 0.71 in) and 27 g (1.0 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
Carbonate: never clean with acid or vinegar.
Each specimen is individually photographed and catalogued before it is listed.
