La couleur violette varie à l'intérieur, avec des zones nuageuses plus légères et une zone rougeâtre-violet plus chaude visible à travers une partie de la pièce. La surface polie produit de larges reflets qui suivent sa forme incurvée. Une vue verticale montre le profil fin près de l'extrémité conique et la largeur plus grande au-dessus, rendant le contour travaillé clairement différent d'un amas cristallin non poli.
