À propos de ce spécimen
Shangbao, Hunan, pyrite with quartz at 16 × 10 × 26 cm and 2850 g including the stand; a large cabinet display piece. Keep dry.
Iron sulfide with a brass-gold colour, pyrite is heavy, bright and geometrically satisfying, with striated faces on the best crystals.
Rock crystal is judged on termination quality, clarity and how the crystals sit together, and the Chinese localities have raised the bar on all three.
Hunan's tungsten-tin and lead-zinc mines have supplied the world with fluorite, calcite, quartz and sulfide specimens since the 1990s.
Dimensions place it in the large cabinet range, 16 × 10 × 26 cm (6.30 × 3.94 × 10.24 in) and 2850 g (100.5 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
Each specimen is individually photographed and catalogued before it is listed.
