Una colonna si stacca dal gruppo e riflette come acciaio lucidato, con facce tanto brillanti da restituirle la stanza. La massa sottostante resta molto più scura: un fascio di fibre parallele di stibina che corrono verticalmente, spolverate qua e là da una drusa color crema pallido risalita dalla base.
Lo Hunan è la fonte classica dei bei cristalli di stibina, e il solfuro di antimonio, Sb2S3, è tra i minerali più teneri che un collezionista possa possedere: durezza 2 Mohs, abbastanza tenero perché un'unghia vi lasci il segno. Quelle facce brillanti sono piani di sfaldatura perfetta, ed è esattamente per questo che riflettono così bene e si ammaccano così facilmente. Lo prenda dalla base, lo tenga lontano dal sole diretto e la lucentezza sopravviverà per decenni su uno scaffale.
