この標本について
細身で水のように澄んだ水晶の柱が、この金色の雪宝頂産群晶の上に尖塔のようにそびえます。10 cm の標本の頂点をなすのは、ガラス質の錐面をもつ一本の結晶です。その下の結晶群は鉄分に富む溶液に染まって温かな琥珀色をおび、アクアマリンの柱状結晶と銀色の雲母の板が随所に挟まっています。ハチミツとガラスを思わせるこの色合いは産地としては珍しく、この標本ならではの持ち味です。
四川省平武県の雪宝頂は、まさにこうした鉱物の取り合わせ、つまり緑柱石・水晶・雲母が同じ晶洞を分け合う産状で知られています。ただし、背の高い錐面を無傷のまま採り出せた群晶は、むしろ例外的な存在です。
寸法は6.2 × 6.1 × 10.3 cm、重量は217 g。無処理の天然標本で、写真はお届けする現品です。
