A dense block of dark, lead-grey galena with cubic cleavage faces, mixed with black sphalerite and brassy pyrite grains. The metallic lustre is bright on the fresh faces and the block is very heavy. Fluoresces under a UV torch, as the photos show.
Peruvian galena-sphalerite-pyrite at 1.4 kg; a display block of classic Andean sulfide ore. It is a lead sulfide mineral.
At 1400 g (49.4 oz) it is a cabinet specimen that makes a strong centrepiece on a shelf or in a display case. Sold as photographed, with any known repair, mount, treatment or condition note disclosed in this listing; colour is as true to hand as the photos allow.
