關於此標本
兩種銅碳酸鹽、兩種性情，同處一塊直立的礦石之上：天鵝絨般的綠色孔雀石結成圓潤的葡萄狀軟墊，群青色的藍銅礦結殼則自右側堆疊而上，聚成緊密的糖粒狀薔薇，飽和得彷彿自背後被點亮。綠色向頂端攀成一座小尖塔；藍色如潮痕般隨行，並在下方的岩階上再度積聚，那裡仍露出幾處較深的灰褐色母岩。
藍銅礦 Cu3(CO3)2(OH)2 與孔雀石 Cu2CO3(OH)2 之間的差別，不過是一個碳酸根與一個水分子；在潮濕空氣中，藍銅礦會緩慢讓位給孔雀石。像這樣的標本正是被定格在轉變途中，雙色效果由此而來。兩者都軟，莫氏硬度約 3.5 至 4，也都不耐酸與濕洗——只可乾拭除塵。
礦塊尺寸 7.7 × 4.4 × 5.2 cm，重 147 g，以平整的底面自行站立，無需底座。照片僅拍攝此一標本。
