冰川般的淡色，只在較深的陰影裡透出一絲紫意，這件上堡晶簇由平行排列的立方體構成：每道稜邊都呈細緻的階梯狀，因此每當一顆晶體遇上另一顆，輪廓便碎成一級級細小的階梯。光線在晶體內部行進相當長一段距離才轉暗，凹陷處沉積著淡淡的褐色鐵染，反而讓藍色顯得更冷。
湖南上堡礦，是收藏者多年來追逐的藍色與藍綠色螢石產地，產出多為立方體或立方八面體，稜邊正是這種階梯狀、帶蝕痕的樣貌。像這樣色淺的標本，在強烈的指向性燈光下最為出色，燈光會把顏色從晶體內部逼出來。螢石摩氏硬度 4，沿八面體解理，且不喜溫度驟變，因此請遠離暖氣，也不要放進超音波清洗機。
晶簇尺寸 8.6 × 5.1 × 5.3 cm，重 330 g，不附底座。照片全部拍自這一件晶簇，別無其他。
