關於此標本
兩條臂膀自共同的枝幹揚起，張成一個寬闊的 V 形，各由成千上萬顆熔接在一起的銅瘤與銅鉤構成，縫隙之間可以看見天光透過。金屬已老化成溫暖的磚紅色，凹陷處更深，細小的白色晶粒攀附在窪處。整體壓扁到約一公分半厚，因此它的舉止更像開放的金屬蕾絲，而不是一團實心的金屬。
銅是少數幾種能以未化合狀態存在於地殼中的金屬之一，結晶於等軸晶系；當它在狹窄的裂隙中生長時，會沿結晶方向分枝，正好產生這種樹枝狀的形態。它很軟，莫氏硬度 2.5 至 3，並略具延展性，因此一根被壓到的枝條會彎折而不會折斷。請盡量少觸摸——皮膚油脂會使包漿失去光澤，表面最好維持礦山交出來時的模樣。
這叢枝狀體橫向展開 10.7 cm，高 8.1 cm，厚 1.5 cm，重 125 g。此處所有攝影都是拍攝這一叢銅枝，並以手持方式呈現比例。
