黃褐與蜜色的方解石圓盤像洗牌途中被定格的撲克籌碼般堆疊起來，砌成一座小巧的直立塔柱，每一疊各以自己的角度傾斜，使整組標本隨著目光向上攀升而不斷轉向。同樣的板狀晶體在側翼綻成花簇。表面呈絲綢般的柔潤，而非玻璃光澤；當光線自背後透來，最薄的板緣便泛起溫暖的光。
藏家稱這種形態為槳狀或撲克籌碼晶習：方解石平鋪展開，一板疊一板，其形貌由流體的化學性質所驅動，而非源自礦物本身的對稱性。瑤崗仙的碳酸鹽礦物相當常見此種形態，而黃褐色調通常意味著體系中含有少許鐵。莫氏硬度 3、具菱面體解理，板緣是最脆弱的部位——請托住底部取放，切勿抓握突出的扇片。
