關於此標本
凝結的蜂蜜是最接近這枚立方體顏色的說法，而它的內部一點也不單調：方正的幽靈輪廓一層層相套而立，每一層都是生長中的一次停頓，就在發生的位置被凍結下來。一枚較小的立方體從主晶面後方擠出肩來，兩者都倚著鬆脆的乳白色母岩，把金色往前推。
金色螢石在中國的產出遠不如南方各礦的綠色與紫色來得常見，而一枚稜角如此利落的北京立方體，值得在螢石收藏中單獨列出。螢石（CaF2）莫氏硬度 4，沿八面體方向解理，因此那些銳利的角隅是最先受威脅的部位——請握住母岩拿取標本，切勿捏住晶體。
體積小而拿在手中份量恰到好處，尺寸 3.0 × 2.5 × 2.0 cm，重 25 g，送達時附上此處所見的透明壓克力方塊。那些照片記錄的，正是您將收到的這枚立方體。
